Eastwood High, East Renfrewshire

Eastwood High School was built under the Government-funded 'schools for the future' programme run by the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) and is one of four major projects completed by BAM under the initiative in 2013.

The new £28.96m school forms one half of a joint project between East Renfrewshire and Midlothian councils that has seen the building of replacement Eastwood and Lasswade high schools – the first project of this kind in Scotland. Both authorities delivered savings through joint working such as using the same design team for the building and suppliers for the construction.

Also provided as part of the project are separate sports facilities, which include two all-weather pitches with athletics track, games halls, dance studio and a swimming pool. Eastwood High Sports Centre will be open to the whole community outwit school hours.

We supplied all furniture, fittings and equipment (FF&E) for the school which houses 1220 pupils. Our own manufacturing (together with supply chain partners) delivered hundreds of thousands of items to the four SFT schools, from all over of the world, to complete on budget and on time. Lasswade and Eastwood alone required the coordination, delivery and offload of over 6000 individually wrapped tables and chairs from Germany.
