Elderbank Primary School, East Irvine, Ayrshire

Elderbank Primary School was created following the amalgamation of Broomlands Primary, Fencedykes Primary and Towerlands Primary schools. The new £10.6 million structure accommodates over 500 pupils, including “early years” learners and children with additional support needs.

We worked closely with North Ayrshire Council and Morgan Sindall on the development of the 56,564 sq ft, two-storey school which was built on the site of the former Broomlands Primary School.

The school features a range of high-quality modern facilities, including provision for “early years” of up to 50 places; 18 modern classrooms and five classrooms for pupils with additional support needs. It also includes two classrooms dedicated to pupils with hearing impairments, activity space and a therapy and sensory support room.

Despite challenges like flooding caused by local river, Annick Water, the team completed the programme on time and snag free.
