The state-of-the-art Jack Copland Centre, based at Heriot Watt University Research Park, Edinburgh, will deliver a first-rate facility for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS).
The new headquarters will see blood and donor tissues and cells from across Scotland being processed, tested, researched, developed and manufactured at the centre, before being transported to where they are required. The new facility not only creates a modern blood supply service to patients, but also a modern effective working environment for the SNBTS staff.
Working closely with the main contractor, Interserve Construction Limited, Havelock manufactured and installed a range of over 400 mobile serviced benches, fixed benching, pinboards, whiteboards and sink units.
We also manufactured bespoke items including the solid surface reception desk, free standing power poles and over bench shelving units, which involved our PPE team testing for purpose and a paint coating with a specialist powder containing an anti-microbial additive. Additional scope of works involved extensive small power and data installation, and our in-house design team preparing high resolution renders for Interserve and the client.
