Completion of Port Talbot’s latest ‘Super School’

The recently completed second phase of the redevelopment of the Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera Campus, opened last week almost 3 months ahead of schedule. This new super school is part of the Council’s plans for an all-through school providing Welsh medium education for over 1,100 pupils aged 3-18. Phase Two of the project comprised of a new two storey teaching block accommodating up to 200 pupils aged 3-11.

Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera Campus is one of the first UK schools to be completely fitted-out with the new Havelock Imagine education furniture range. Havelock has been involved in the project since 2014; working in close collaboration with the architects to design and produce 3D layouts and create modern spaces. We manufactured and installed fixed and loose furniture including teaching walls and external and internal play equipment. The Imagine brand works seamlessly in each classroom to create multiple learning zones, with the modular furniture giving the option of endless flexible layouts, allowing the staff and pupils to fully utilise and maximise all spaces.

Congratulations to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council, Dawnus Construction, the architects and the teaching staff on a fantastic project.
